Paul McCartney's All-Star Band ... sadly out of print and needs to be reissued
From "The Concerts for the People of Kampuchea." Just hearing Billy Connolly read the names of "The Applejacks," as he calls them, is cool enough. But then you get to hear them play. And Paul in the silver tux ....
Why isn't this show on CD and DVD?
And also from this great show, then there's ...
Had to add this clip of Robert Plant, doing a great Led Zep-type vocal on the Elvis song "Little Sister" backed by Rockpile.
and gotta add ...
This show needs to be released legally again. With outtakes.
Note: After I put this together and before I published it (I swear that's true!), I got a note from Kevin Martin, who was commenting on our "Things We Said Today" show where we reviewed last year and did a wish list for this year. Here's what he said: "My solo project would be a box set cd / dvd release of the complete Concert For Kampuchea. (maybe (re-mastered). It would be nice to see or hear the whole concerts from all the artists. For Wings it would be their only 2nd whole concert to be released in addition songs that have been performed live since. . I do have the album of the 12 or 13 songs on it. I want the whole concert."
Can't argue with that. Great minds think alike ...
